In least populated states, most people think that there are not serious drug problems, as if they are only limited to larger states and cities. And while the state of Wyoming is not exactly hugely populated, there are still very real dangers when it comes to drug abuse. Like many states, there is a less perceived risk in alcohol binge drinking, a sentiment that is just made from ignorance, as there have been many people in the history of this country who have lost their livelihood because of this debilitating substance. Albeit, it is not as dangerous as other drugs, this is only because they come from manufacturers to be more refined than the others. The ease of accessibility does make them about as dangerous, and just as addictive as these other substances in our society.

The state of Wyoming, drinking alcohol is seen as commonplace, as the state ranks consistently higher in rates of abuse. Admissions into drug treatment facilities are obviously higher, making up about 57% of the total of addicted people. Unfortunately, people have the notion that the use of alcohol is a lot safer than using illicit substances, which is probably because of they are legal, and they come from reputable companies, instead of street vendors.

Meth abuse is another real danger in Wyoming, and it is the primary concern of local law enforcement, and the Drug Enforcement Agency, alike. This is a problem that is all too common in this state and others, as we are seeing our communities and families being torn apart because of methamphetamine abuse. People seem to fall victim to this drug because it is easy to obtain, it provides an intense high, and it is a very cheap drug for the person to get their hands on. This makes it one of, if not the most dangerous drugs in the United States of America. The effects of the drug are long-lasting, and do terrible things to the body, both mentally and physically.

What is worse about this drug is that it is popular with the younger crowd, as they generally do not know the power of addiction. While they may get it at a party, use it recreationally, they will soon find out that they have gotten themselves into a situation where they cannot get out of. Fortunately, there are an abundance of drug treatment programs available in the state of Wyoming.

In the state, there are more than 50 programs and facilities that will aid in kicking the addiction. More than 75% of these programs receive funding from the state government, and luckily, they have the tools available for them to do the job accurately.

Although many of these programs are very effective in their methods in combating addiction, some of them are less than favorable for some patients. It is important that anyone who is considering one of these programs in the state of Wyoming, they will need to do adequate research in finding a solution for recovery. Since they are all not created equal, finding the perfect fit will solidify recovery.
