South Carolina was considered a consumer state, and then blossomed into one that become a source state for illegal drug transactions. It is a major transshipment state of the southeast. There are many different drugs in this state, which fuels the local community of people who partake in drug abuse. Unfortunately, the state is one known for rampant use of heroin and cocaine, especially crack cocaine. While this is true, it is also known for the large amounts of seizures when it comes to marijuana. Last year, the DEA seized a whopping 3,793 kilograms of the drug.

Fortunately for those suffering from the debilitating drugs in South Carolina, there are many avenues to take when it comes to drug abuse. In the state there are more than 100 treatment centers available, many of them specializing in the care of many different drugs.
One thing to be mindful about when looking for treatment centers in the state of South Carolina is to be sure that the prospective client does adequate research regarding care. With over 100 solutions, all of them do not offer the same level or care, or in some cases, do not have enough expertise in their methods. In the case of opiod treatment, there are only about 14 programs that offer such care and can administer buprenorphine. Since there are an unusually high number of cases of opiate abuse in South Carolina, this is essentially vital. The physical effects of opiate-based vices, or when the body is devoid of such, it can be quite painful. Recovery is not an easy thing to do for many people, so it is paramount that sufficient care is provided.
